Types of Visa's
Requirements for Student Visa
♦ Primary Academic Documents
These prove that the student is qualified for the course they are applying for.
Valid Passport: Must have at least 6 months validity beyond the stay.
Academic Transcripts: Original 10th (SSC), 12th, and Degree mark sheets/memos.
English Proficiency: Proof of scores from IELTS, TOEFL, or PTE (this is mandatory for UK, USA, Canada, and Australia).
Standardized Tests: GRE or GMAT scores (mostly for USA master’s programs).
♦ University Admission Documents
You cannot apply for the visa without an official “invite” from the country.
USA: Form I-20 (Certificate of Eligibility)
UK: CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) number.
Canada: LOA (Letter of Acceptance) from a DLI-recognized college.
Australia: CoE (Confirmation of Enrolment)
♦ Financial Proofs (Most Important for Approval)
The visa officer must be sure the student can afford the tuition and living costs.
Bank Statements: Usually showing the last 3–6 months of transactions.
Education Loan: Sanction letter from a bank (very strong proof).
Income Tax Returns (ITR): Last 3 years of the sponsor’s (usually parents) ITR.
Blocked Account: Specific to Germany (approx. €11,904) or Canada (GIC of approx. CAD $20,635).
♦ Supporting Legal & Health Documents

SOP (Statement of Purpose): A written essay by the student explaining why they want to study in that country.

Medical Certificate: Required for Canada, Australia, and UK (specifically the TB Test for the UK).

Police Clearance Certificate (PCC): To prove a clean criminal record.
Application Process
Phase 1: Pre-Application
(6–12 Months Before)
Course & University Selection: Match the student’s background with the right country (USA, UK, Canada, Australia, etc.)
Entrance Exams: Prepare for and clear mandatory tests like IELTS, PTE, TOEFL, GRE, or GMAT.
Documentation Gathering: Start collecting 10th, 12th, and Degree memos, plus valid passports
Phase 2: University Admission (4–6 Months Before)
Submit University Applications: Apply to “Designated Learning Institutions” (DLI) or SEVP-approved schools.
Receive Offer Letter: Once accepted, the student receives a Conditional or Unconditional Offer Letter.
Fee Payment: Pay the first semester’s tuition fee to the university to secure the seat.
Final Admission Document: The university issues the final visa-support document:
USA: Form I-20
UK: CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies)
Australia: CoE (Confirmation of Enrolment)
Canada: LOA (Letter of Acceptance
Phase 3: Visa Filing (3–4 Months Before)
Financial Preparation: Organize bank statements or education loan sanction letters (funds must often be “seasoned” or held for 28+ days).

Online Visa Application: Fill out the official government forms (e.g., DS-160 for USA).
Pay Fees: Pay the Visa Application Fee and specific country fees like the SEVIS fee (USA) or IHS (UK Healthcare fee).
Phase 4: Appointments & Decision
Biometrics: Attend a VFS Global or Embassy appointment for fingerprints and a photo.
Visa Interview (Mainly for USA): Prepare for the face-to-face interview with a Consular Officer.
Visa Decision: Wait for the approval stamp (Processing takes 2–6 weeks depending on the country).
